It would take me just under an hour to reach the lake

I didn't have far to hike to reach the west end of the park where there was an abundance of wildflowers along with a mist in front of the box elder trees that line the banks of Eakin Creek West

Upwards of 1500 canada geese can be seen on their migration north at Wildflower Lake and along the South Fork Kishwaukee River as this individual flies overhead continuing on to its breeding grounds

I had been wanting to capture this area with snow for along time
