本スタンダードは，300 mmウェーハの工場間輸送用狭ピッチフロントオープニングボックス（FOBIT: front-opening box for interfactory transport）について部分的に規定する。ウェーハを25枚収納できるが，物理容積が13枚ウェーハのFOUPとほぼ同じであるこの狭ピッチのボックスは，IC生産工場間のウェーハ輸送コストを低減することを目的とする。業界の現在の300 mm技術を活用するために，この狭ピッチのフロントオープニングボックスは，SEMI E62で規定されている13枚ウェーハ用のFIMSとインタフェースするものとする。
