佐賀県多久市の陶芸家、マイケルマルティノさんの斑皮鯨ぐい呑。まさに斑唐津の皮鯨手を現代にアップデートしたような、美しい作品。たっぷりとかけられた斑釉に、口縁に施された黒釉が流れ、蒼い景色を作っています。また中央には金による直しが施されています。泉山陶石と唐津土が混ぜられた土により、高台脇に独特の土味が見られます。見込みにも流れた釉薬が美しく、使って眺めて楽しめる作品です。
