Maiskij good for braiding I watched Anthony Bourdain's PartsI'm very impressed with Maiskij, it formed beautiful bulbs its very first year with me. Bright purple stripes running vertically all around the circumference and a mellow Turban flavor. I've read both that it's from Turkmenistan, and here that it's the Russian word for "May" possibly its traditional harvest month. In this area, like all Turbans, it is harvested earlier than other garlic but not that early, in my experience. In the first photo you can
