It cuts through flat fields, past abandoned Victorian houses and unused railroad tracks. Even as a toddler, the austerity of this desolate road filled me a clashing sense of wonder and unease. I created the enameled images in these earrings by "painting" with powdered glass on thin steel using tiny brushes and various scraping tools. I fired the design with a torch to fuse the glass to the metal. One
