Rare Cabinet 'Isola d'Elba' by Aldo Rossi, Bruno Longoni Cantú, Solid Wood, 1980 A true icon of theAldo Rossis Cabina dellElba wardrobe (designed 1980, produced by Bruno Longoni in 1982) perfectly captures the architect's philosophy of treating interior design as an extension of the urban landscape. Inspired by the beach cabins of Elba, Rossi took what he called the "minimum size for living" and scaled it down for the home. The wardrobe retains the pure geometric lines, triangular tympanum, and vibrant vertical stripes of its coastal inspiration.
