Pre cut seats provide a professional start to stone setting and help ensure level setting. Tube settings are literally cut from (or cast as) a tube with enough thickness to allow a seat for the gemstone to be cut into their interior walls. The setting is finished in roughly the same way as a bezel; the tube walls are pushed inward and burnished over the girdle of the stone
