Until I have enough, I recommend any other of the Creole family of garlics as substitutes. Full name of the variety as sometimes known is "Ajo Morado de Las Pedroeras," but that's a Protected Geographical Indication. So I'm just growing Ajo Morado de La Valle Battenkill here.
