For sale here is an Everett Garrison Model 209, 8' 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent condition. Made for E. Houpt of the New York Angler's Club, and reportedly refinished by Mr. Garrison. Featuring medium toned cane with oxidized snake guides and transparent tan windings. Bright 13/64 ferrules fit perfectly, and one tip ferrule has a slightly frayed thread right where the serrations meet the bamboo. A dab of varnish should shore this up nicely. All sections are straight, full length & serialized (C-8-11, made in 1933). One tip has slightly faded ink, it's possible this was rewritten whenever the rod was refinished. All-cork grip & reel seat with pocketed cap & ring hardware. The cork shows its age; soiled with just a bit of the adhesive between rings poking through. The base of the grip also has some unfortunate digs from being used as a hook keeper. Weight is 3.84oz. Delightful medium fast action, I like it with a DT5. A supremely fishable taper from the master. Garrison rods remain highly desirable, and this one is ready to hit the water. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube
